People wanting to hear what's pleasing, not the truth - Isaiah

Isaiah 30:9-10 (New International Version)

9 For these are rebellious people, deceitful children,
children unwilling to listen to the LORD’s instruction.
10 They say to the seers,
   “See no more visions!”
and to the prophets,
“Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things,
   prophesy illusions.

What a heritage!

Isaiah 54:17 (New International Version)

17 no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me,”
            declares the LORD.

"My ways are higher..."

Isaiah 55:8-9 (New International Version)

8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
            declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts"

**I was driving through the Capital Beltway the other day and the route and lanes seemed so erratic in their patterns and the exit lanes would pop on you so quickly. There seemed to be no order to it! But it's only when you're flying over the highway you realize there is order to it all. It's planned to perfection. Likewise, when we're going through life, it seems to make no sense but if only we saw it through God's eyes. There would be perfect sense to it all.

You who are young, be happy

Ecclesiastes 11:9-10 (New International Version)

9 You who are young, be happy while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
   and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you into judgment.
10 So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless.
